MONTREAL – The Canadiens staved off a late-game comeback from the Buffalo Sabres to leave the Bell Centre with a 4-3 win in a shootout on Tuesday.

Martin St-Louis' men led 3-1 for the first 40 minutes of the game with goals from Lane Hutson – his first of the campaign – Cole Caufield and Josh Anderson. But the pesky Sabres found a way back into the game in the final frame to force overtime and a shootout.
The Canadiens ultimately came out on top in the skills competition with goals from Caufield, Alexandre Texier and Zachary Bolduc.
