The Boston Bruins announced today that the team has signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year contract extension through the 2033-34 season with an annual cap hit of $7.2 million.

His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group. This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser’s belief in our team moving forward.”
Minten appeared in all 82 games with Boston during the 2025-26 season, setting career highs in goals (17), assists (18) and points (35). His 17 goals tied for fifth on the team, while his 35 points were the most by a Bruins rookie since the 2017-18 season. He also ranked fifth among Boston skaters in hits (142) and takeaways (27).
Minten led all NHL rookie skaters in plus-minus (+21) and ranked second on Boston’s roster in 2025-26. The 22-year-old ranked among the top 10 rookies in the league in goals (8th), points (T-8th), even-strength goals (T-3rd, 16), even-strength points (T-7th, 31) and overtime goals (T-1st, 2).
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound forward was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month for January after leading all NHL rookies in goals (8) and tying for the lead in points (14). He also ranked first in even-strength goals (7) and tied for second in even-strength points (11) and power-play points (3). His 32.0% shooting percentage in January also led all NHL rookies.
Minten also received NESN’s 7th Player Award for the 2025-26 season, selected by fan vote and presented annually to the Bruin who most exceeded fans’ expectations.
The Vancouver, British Columbia native has skated in 107 career NHL games with Boston and Toronto, totaling 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points with a plus-16 rating.
He was acquired by Boston in March 2025, along with a 2026 first-round draft pick and a 2025 fourth-round draft pick (Vashek Blanar), from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Brandon Carlo. Minten was originally selected by Toronto in the second round (38th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
