The St. Louis Blues FREE reading program, Blues Bookworms, is available for all classrooms, grades K-6, that are located in the Greater St. Louis Area. The program runs Oct. 1- Jan. 31. Every classroom that participates will receive bookmarks for each student and a Bookworms poster for the classroom!
Each month, students record the number of minutes read by downloading the Student Tracker Form provided by the Blues. Forms should be initiated by a parent/guardian and submitted to teachers. Then, teachers should submit their list of total classroom minutes online to the Blues at the end of each month using the "Submit Minutes" button below.
Students that read a total of 1,000 minutes or more by Jan. 31 will score a buy one, get one free ticket code to the following Blues Bookworms game of their choice:
Tuesday, Mar. 19 vs. Edmonton,
Monday, Apr. 1 vs. Colorado
Thursday, Apr. 4 vs. Philadelphia
Students will be recognized as a group on the Enterprise Center scoreboard and will have the opportunity shoot on goal after the game.
A special ticket discount will be available for family members, teachers and students that did not reach 1,000 minutes.
The overall top reader from each grade level will receive four (4) FREE Plaza Level Blues tickets to one of the three Bookworms games this season. The top readers will also be featured on the big screen during the game.
Every class that reaches or goes beyond 250 minutes read per month per student will be entered into a drawing for a Blues celebrity appearance. If a classroom is selected to receive a Blues Celebrity appearance and there are multiple classrooms in that selected school enrolled in the Blues Bookworms Program, all classrooms in that school that have reached their monthly goal will be invited to participate in the visit. The more classrooms registered per school, the better the chance of receiving an appearance!
