It took six hours, 15 people and 5 large cheese pizzas to get it done, but we drafted 690 hockey players to fill out 30 NHL rosters, and here they are.
To follow along with the order of the draft, just start with
Edmonton Oilers in the first round, scroll down to the
Boston Bruins, then scroll back up. The Bruins made the first pick in the second round in this snake draft.
Obviously, the cap hit is in millions of dollars. So when you see
Mike Brown and his 0.737 cap hit, that means his cap hit is $737,000. The salary cap ceiling is $64.3 million; the floor is $48.3 million.
Any player who is in italics falls into an area where his cap hit is unknown and we simply took a guess at what it would be if and when he signed this offseason. It's clearly not an exact science, but nothing is perfect. We think the numbers we came up with for these players are pretty fair.
We'll eventually plug these rosters into NHL '12 and have the people at EA Sports simulate the season and playoffs and see who comes out on top.

Note: NHL.com's Fantasy Re-Draft was conducted in July and
Rick Rypien was selected by the
Tampa Bay Lightning. Rypien, who passed away on Aug. 15, has been removed from the roster and replaced with
Philippe Dupuis.
