Jason Zucker was the runaway winner for the Bryant Hot Player for the week of Nov. 13. Zucker garnered more than 91 percent of votes cast after a historic week of play from Nov. 6-12.
Zucker scored six goals in four games during that stretch. All six goals came consecutively over a span of three games, establishing a new franchise record and tying the second-longest string of consecutive goals in NHL history. Included in that span was Zucker's first career hat trick in Montreal on Nov. 9. He also assisted on Minnesota's final goal in Boston on Nov. 6, giving him a hand in seven-straight Wild goals over a four-game period.
Zucker is up for the award again this week, along with forward Eric Staal and defenseman Jared Spurgeon.
Zucker continued his stretch of red-hot play, scoring one goal apiece against the Flyers on Nov. 14 and Predators on Nov. 16. Both goals were game-winning tallies, as Zucker doubled his season total in that category. His four game-winners is already a single-season career high. Zucker's string of five consecutive games with at least one goal was snapped on Nov. 18 against the Capitals.
Staal had two multi-point games, including a one-goal, two-assist night against the Predators. Staal's goal with just under five minutes remaining in that game tied the score and capped a three-goal comeback before Zucker's game-winner two minutes later. Staal also had a goal and an assist versus the Flyers two nights earlier and finished the week a plus-4.
Spurgeon scored one goal and had two assists in the win against the Predators and added an assist versus the Flyers. Spurgeon, who enters the week third on the team in scoring (and first among defensemen) was a plus-2 last week.
