Green Assists Program

Colorado pre-12 schools are eligible for a sustainability grant from Green Assists program, presented by Ball.  Complete grant application Click here by May 10 outlining how your school has / can improve your recycling and sustainability efforts.

KSE Employee Day of Service

KSE hosts bi-annual days of service by providing employees with volunteer opportunities in the Denver community. Employees donate time to a variety of local organizations, such as food banks, animal shelters and hospitals. If you would like your non-profit organization to receive KSE volunteers for the next Day of Service, register below

Av for a Day

Avalanche for a Day recognizes inspirational kids in our community. The program encourages kids to continually strive for improvement and excellence in their school or community by offering a unique experience. Selected candidates will receive a visit from Avalanche celebrities, team merchandise and online recognition. Candidates are chosen by their ability to inspire others, as well as their efforts to demonstrate a positive attitude facing hardships, remarkable commitment to improve their community, or extraordinary dedication to academics.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Good behavior
  • Positive attitude
  • Good citizenship
  • Community involvement (i.e. tutoring, community service projects, volunteer work or unique home situation such as caring for younger siblings or grandparents, etc.)

Hockey Fights Cancer

Hockey Fights Cancer™ is an initiative founded in December 1998 by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association to raise money and awareness for hockey's most important fight. To date, through the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, the NHL's US and Canadian charitable foundations and NHL supporters and fans have donated more than $14 million to support national and local cancer research institutions, children's hospitals, player charities and local cancer organizations. The Hockey Fights Cancer program is also a component of the NHL's "Biggest Assist Happens Off the Ice" campaign - the League's long-standing tradition of addressing important social issues in North America and around the world.

The Hockey Fights Cancer program is supported by NHL Member Clubs, NHL Alumni, the NHL Officials' Association, Professional Hockey Trainers and Equipment Managers, corporate marketing partners, broadcast partners and fans throughout North America.

Most Valuable Teacher

The Colorado Avalanche are proud to honor teachers and school administrators in Colorado through the Colorado Avalanche Most Valuable Teacher (MVT) program, presented by Ford. The MVT program encourages teachers and school administrators to continually strive for excellency and leadership in their schools by offering a unique experience. Once a month for six (6) months of the year, the Colorado Avalanche will recognize a Colorado teacher or school administrator for their outstanding work in empowering youth in our community.

TeamFIT

TeamFIT, presented by Great Clips, is designed to provide students with tools and instructions for physical, nutritional, and emotional wellness. The program is open to elementary & middle school students, grades 3 – 8, in the Denver Metro area.
