Hockey Fights Cancer

What is Hockey Fights Cancer?

Founded in 1998 by the National Hockey League® and the National Hockey League Players' Association, Hockey Fights Cancer™ (HFC) unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. The initiative gets an assist from players, coaches, officials, equipment managers, front office staff, corporate partners, and fans. Together, the hockey family looks to inspire hope and courage for those who are living with, going through and moving past cancer.

HFC is now a season-long initiative for the NHL and each of the 32 teams will celebrate their own night during the 2025/2026 season. The Winnipeg Jets initiative will run during the month of November, with it concluding during the HFC game on Sunday, November 23rd vs the Minnesota Wild.

Winnipeg Jets Hockey Fights Cancer Night

The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Fights Cancer Night will be hosted on Sunday, November 23rd vs the Minnesota Wild. That night, the Winnipeg Jets will convert all their rinkboards and in-game visual media to lavender in order to generate increased awareness for the cause. A special ceremonial puck drop will take place prior to the start of the game, recognizing a few of the pediatric patients that are currently under the care of Cancer Care Manitoba.

Fans will also have an opportunity to purchase a 50/50 ticket or a jersey raffle ticket for a chance to win an autographed HFC themed jersey. All funds raised will support Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation and their pediatric clinical trials.

HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER MERCHANDISE

Add some lavender to your life!

All Jets Gear locations (Canada Life Centre, Kildonan Place, Polo Park, and St. Vital) and TrueNorthShop.com will sell a variety of limited edition Hockey Fights Cancer merchandise, with a portion of the proceeds going to Hockey Fights Cancer.

GET INVOLVED

The hockey community is a family. And, like most families, we all know someone who has been affected by cancer. We encourage you to DOWNLOAD the "I Fight For" sign and use the hashtag #hockeyfightscancer to share your photo on Twitter or Instagram.

OUR CHARITABLE PARTNER

All proceeds raised will be directed to CCMF pediatric clinical trials. CCMF funds a significant proportion of the cost of clinical trials for children and teens with cancer, making leading-edge treatments available and accessible locally. Manitoba continues to have one of the highest participation rates of pediatric trials in the country, due in large part due to the significant donations CCMF directs to this effort year after year. All funds raised by CCMF, including through the Jets' HFC campaign, stay in our province to benefit pediatric patients and their families. Visit cancercarefdn.mb.ca for more information.

OUR HISTORY

Since 2011 the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club have been committed to raise money and awareness for hockey's most important fight!

Over that time, through the support of our fans, we are proud to say we have donated more than $1,250,000 to this great cause.

Take a look back at some memorable moments.
