Independence Blue Cross (IBX) and the Philadelphia Flyers (Flyers) today announced the launch of IBX Caring MVPs, a new community recognition program celebrating individuals throughout the Greater Philadelphia region who are making a difference through volunteerism, service, and support for others. IBX and the Flyers will select six winners based on nominations submitted by friends, family, and community members through October 23, 2026.
The program spotlights the often-unsung heroes who strengthen neighborhoods, support families, and improve lives through their commitment to helping others. From organizing neighborhood cleanups and stocking food pantries to mentoring youth and supporting people facing serious illnesses, IBX Caring MVPs recognizes those whose acts of caring create a ripple effect throughout the community.

Nominate an IBX Caring MVP today
Community members can nominate local volunteers whose contributions are helping individuals, families, and neighborhoods across the region. Categories include: school volunteers, youth sports volunteers, neighborhood leaders, or local service champions.
IBX Caring MVP submissions should describe how the nominee's service has made a meaningful impact and inspired others.
To be eligible, nominees must be at least 18 years of age or older, live in Southeastern Pennsylvania or New Jersey, and volunteer without compensation for a 501(c)(3) organization or school that benefits communities in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Nominations will be accepted September 28, 2026, through October 23, 2026.
One IBX Caring MVP will be honored each month during the Flyers' regular season from November 2026 through April 2027. Honorees will receive:
- Suite-level tickets to a Flyers game for the honoree and guests
- Special recognition during the game
- A customized Flyers jersey
- $500 donation to the non-profit organization of the winner’s choice
