ST. LOUIS — Nathan Walker's second-period goal proved to be the decider, while Jordan Binnington's 38 saves helped stave off a furious Flames rally in a 3-2 St. Louis win Tuesday at Enterprise Center.

Calgary got goals from Matt Coronato and Rasmus Andersson, the tallies coming 25 seconds apart in the second period, but try as they might, the Flames could not find an equalizer in their lone visit this season to the Show Me State.

The homeside held a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes on goals from Calgarian Dylan Holloway and Matthew Kessel, outshooting the Flames 14-9 in the first frame.

Nathan Walker put the Blues ahead 3-0 at the 7:20 mark of the second period, but with just under seven minutes left to play in the frame, the Flames offence woke up.

And they had one of their young stars to thank.

Coronato accepted a long stretch pass from Brayden Pachal at the St. Louis line, walked in, and unleashed a shot over Jordan Binnington’s right shoulder for his fourth of the campaign - and third against the Blues - to get the visitors on the board.

Then, just 25 seconds later, Andersson uncorked a snapshot from the point that sailed over Binnington’s left shoulder, off the crossbar and in, cutting the deficit to a single goal.

Calgary fired 16 shots on goal in the third period, Andersson leading the way with a game-high seven pucks on target.
