Updates from practice - Dec.27

BRANDON – The Canadiens returned to practice Saturday after a three-day Christmas break, taking the ice at TGH Ice Plex following their arrival in Tampa.

Before the session, the team recalled Samuel Montembeault from his conditioning assignment with the Laval Rocket. The goaltender skated with the group.

Twenty-three players took part in practice, including Alexandre Texier, who exited Montreal’s December 23 game in Boston and did not return.

The Canadiens also announced that forward Jake Evans will miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Montreal and Tampa Bay meet Sunday at 5:00 p.m. ET.
