Assistant Coach
Steve Spott is in his first year as an Assistant Coach with the Bruins, as he joined Marco Sturm’s staff on June 20, 2025. He has spent the previous 12 seasons in the NHL at the assistant coach positions with the Dallas Stars (2022-2025), Vegas Golden Knights (2020-2022), San Jose Sharks (2015-2019) and the Toronto Maple Leaf (2014-15). He had moved into the pro ranks as the Head Coach on the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. He started his coaching career with 16 seasons in junior hockey in the OHL Plymouth Whalers (Assistant Coach, 1997-2000), Plymouth Whalers (Associate Coach, 2000-01), Kitchener Rangers (Assistant GM and Assistant Coach, 2001-2008) and as the General Manager and Head Coach of Kitchener in his final junior season in 2008-09. He served as the Assistant Coach for Team Canada in the 2010 (Silver medal) and 2013 World Junior Championships, won the 2003 and 2008 OHL Championship and the 2003 Memorial Cup Championship. He played four seasons of college hockey at Colgate University with 75-73=148 totals in 131 career college games, advancing to the Frozen Four Final in 1990.
