Matthew Chmura is in his 13th season with the Bruins, his seventh as the team's Vice President of Communications and third with the additional oversight of the club's marketing department. He is responsible for the club's overall communications and marketing functions and strategies while overseeing all media relations, website editorial, marketing and community relations efforts. He was promoted to his current positions after joining the team in 2006 and serving six seasons in the positions of Director of Media Relations and Director of Communications. A native of Taunton, MA, he began his sports career as an intern in various NFL public relations departments, including the New England Patriots, and he spent two seasons as Manager and then Director of Public Relations with the MetroStars of Major League Soccer. He came to the Bruins following one season as Vice President of Communications and New Media with Red Bull New York (MLS). He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a BA in Political Science and has served as a Trustee for that institution, and holds an MBA from Yale University. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Taunton, MA, and the Bay State Games.
