The Boston Bruins, NESN and the NHL collaborated to bring fans a real-time, animated data visualization, the “Best Snow Day Ever”. The Bruins vs. Panthers game on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 was recreated in real-time using NHL EDGE data into an animated world for fans to watch.
While showing the animated Bruins-Panthers game, STEM-focused lessons were incorporated, using hockey as a vehicle to make math, physics and science concepts come together in a way that is both fun and educational.
The “Best Snow Day Ever” brought kids on an imaginary snow day with no school where they follow Blades, the Bruins’ mascot, on an adventure as he’s transported into a snow globe of an imaginary Boston.
NESN’s Adam Pellerin led the animated play-by-play with former Bruin & 2011 Stanley Cup® Champion Andrew Ference providing analysis for an one-of-a-kind gameday viewing experience.
Bring STEM to life with a fun activity! Future Goals created a STEM worksheet to test your knowledge on math, physics and science concepts throughout the Best Snow Day Ever broadcast. Download the worksheet and test your STEM skills while watching the recap video.
