The Minnesota Wild will wear custom-designed camouflage jerseys during pre-game warm-ups on Saturday, Jan. 11 when it hosts the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. The Minnesota National Guard is the presenting partner for this game.
Player autographed camouflage jerseys will be available in an online auction starting Wednesday, Jan. 15 at www.wild.com/camo. The auction will end on Sunday, Jan. 26. Proceeds from the online auction will benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Defending The Blue Line.
Defending The Blue Line is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by a group of National Guard soldiers in Minnesota. The charity assists families of all branches of the military with costs associated with hockey. They provide financial assistance for registration fees, free equipment, summer hockey camps, and sending many deserving families to Xcel Energy Center for a night of fun at a Minnesota Wild game.
Defending The Blue Line is excited for this opportunity to further help military families. Keeping the kids focused and active in hockey is a great way to help keep their minds off of a parent’s upcoming or current deployment. For more information on how you can help Defending The Blue Line please visit www.DefendingTheBlueLine.org.
The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey. Since its inception in 2000, the Minnesota Wild has invested nearly eight million dollars back into the community. The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.
