Wild to play Colorado in Conf. Quarterfinals

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild will face Northwest Division rival Colorado in the Western Conference Quarterfinals, after the Avalanche defeated the Wild 4-3 in a shootout at Pepsi Center this afternoon. The Wild will host Game 1 either Wednesday or Thursday at Xcel Energy Center. The entire conference quarterfinal schedule of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be announced late Sunday upon the conclusion of the NHL’s regular season.


The Wild, which holds the Western Conference’s No. 3 seed after its first-ever Northwest Division title, finished the regular season 44-28-10 for 98 points.
