SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed defenseman Justin Falk to an Entry Level contract.
Falk, 19 (10/11/88), recorded 26 points (4-22=26), 98 penalty minutes (PIM) and was a plus-27 in 72 regular season games with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 2007-08. The 6-foot-5, 213-pound native of Snowflake, Manitoba added five points (1-4=5) in 21 WHL playoff games and scored two points (1-1=2) in five Memorial Cup games helping lead the Chiefs to the 2008 Memorial Cup championship. Falk was named to the 2008 Memorial Cup Tournament All-Star team.
He was originally selected by Minnesota in the fourth round (110th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
