Wild Reassigns Schaefer

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild
The Minnesota Wild has reassigned goaltender Nolan Schaefer to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Schaefer, 27 (1/15/80), is 2-4-0 with a 2.93 goals against average (GAA) and a .902 save percentage in six games with the Aeros this season.  The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Yellow Grass, Sask., was recalled by the Wild Sunday and did not dress for the team in Colorado. Schaefer was recalled earlier this season on Oct. 27 and served as the team’s back-up goaltender for two contests before being reassigned to Houston on Nov. 1.  He was San Jose’s fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.  Minnesota signed Schaefer as a free agent on July 3, 2007. Schaefer is 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA in seven career NHL games – all with San Jose.
