Iowa Wild 2014-15 Record: 21-41-1-2, 45 points, Fifth Place in West Division

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, dropped its three games last week. The Wild fell in its first match against the Checkers 3-2 on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena (3/21). F Brett Bulmer (1-1=2) and F Brady Brassart (1-1=2) each tallied two points. G John Curry stopped 23-of-26 shots. Iowa lost its second match against Charlotte 4-2 on Sunday in Des Moines (3/22). D Jonathon Blum (0-2=2) and Joel Chouinard (1-1=2) registered two points apiece while Curry made 22 saves. The Wild fell 4-3 against the Stars on Tuesday in Iowa (3/24). F Stephane Veilleux tallied two assists while F Jared Knight, Chouinard and F Zack Mitchell each scored for Iowa. G Johan Gustafsson stopped 33-of-37 shots. F Tyler Graovac leads the Wild in scoring with 42 points (20-22=42) in 62 games. F Michael Keranen ranks second with 34 points (9-25=34). Blum (9-22=31) and F Marc Hagel (10-21=31) rank T-3rd with 31 points while F Zach Mitchell ranks T-7th in the AHL amongst rookies in goals (16). Curry is 11-18-1 with a 2.80 GAA and a .913 SV% in 33 games. Gustafsson is 8-19-1 with a 3.38 GAA and a .896 SV% in 32 games. The Wild play three games this week hosting San Antonio on Friday and Saturday before traveling to Chicago on Sunday.




Canadian Hockey Leagues

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has not played in the last 16 Brandon games due to a lower-body injury (Feb.15-current) as the Wheat Kings will face Edmonton in the first round of the WHL Eastern Conference playoffs.

D Tanner Faith - Kootenay (WHL):
Minnesota's fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is expected to miss the remainder of the season due to an upper body injury.

D Dylan Labbe - Shawinigan (QMJHL): The fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota leads blue liners on Shawinigan in scoring and ranks T-3rd amongst QMJHL defensemen in goals and sixth in scoring. Shawinigan is set to play Halifax in the first round Friday (3/27).

C Pavel Jenys - Sudbury (OHL):
Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft signed an ATO with Iowa March 24. Jenys tallied 11 points (4-7=11) in the last 14 Wolves games. He led Sudbury in scoring, T-1st in assists and T-2nd in goals.

C Chase Lang - Calgary (WHL):
The sixth-round pick for Minnesota in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft ranks third on the Hitmen in goals and fourth in scoring and has set career-highs in goals, assists and points this season. Calgary will face Kootenay in the first round of the WHL playoffs starting Friday March 27.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL):
The defensemen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota is expected to miss the rest of the season due to shoulder surgery.

College/USHL/High School

D Louis Belpedio - Miami University of Ohio (NCHC): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft tallied two points (1-1=2) and two PIM in two games as Miami clinched the NCHC Championship last weekend. The Redhawks will face Providence in the first round of the NCAA tournament. He ranks first amongst defenseman on the team in goals and second in scoring.

D Nolan De Jong - Michigan (Big Ten): The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft saw his team's ended its season falling to Minnesota 4-2 in the Big Ten Championship (3/21).

D John Draeger - Michigan State (Big Ten): Minnesota's third-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Michigan State closed out its season with a 4-1 loss to Michigan in the Big Ten semifinals (3/20).

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft ranks second on the Eagles in power-play goals (5) and in scoring and ranked T-3rd in assists. Boston College is scheduled to face Denver in the first round of the NCAA Division I Championship (3/27-29).

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (Hockey East):
The second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft for Minnesota ranked T-3rd in the conference and T-10th in the NCAA in goals while ranking first on the Irish in goals and third in points and recorded career-highs in goals and points during his third year at Notre Dame.

LW Louis Nanne - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (ECAC):
Minnesota's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft ranked T-2nd amongst freshmen on the team in assists and third in scoring and goals.

C Avery Peterson - Nebraska Omaha (NCHC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft ranks fourth on the team in goals and sixth in scoring. Nebraska Omaha takes on Harvard in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

D Carson Soucy - Minnesota Duluth (NCHC):
Minnesota's fifth-round selection in 2013 NHL Entry Draft ranks third amongst defensemen on the Bulldogs in scoring. Minnesota Duluth will play University of Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

RW Alex Tuch - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild's first-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft was named to the 2014-15 Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team (3/18). He ranks T-4th in the conference in freshmen scoring and leads the Eagles in scoring and second in goals.

Europe

C Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss):
Minnesota's sixth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft earned three points (1-2=3) in seven playoff contests with 14 shots on goal. SC Bern was swept by HC Davos (4-0) in the second round of playoffs. He is ranked third on the team in shots (105) on goal, T-2nd in goals and fifth in points and has set career highs in goals, assists and points this season.

D Pontus Sjalin - Leksand J20 (Super Elit): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft played two games with Leksand of the SHL (10/28-10/30) and leads the defensemen on the team in scoring and ranks T-4th on Leksand in assists.

Goaltenders

Alexandre Belanger - Cape-Breton (QMJHL):
The Wild's seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft returned to the lineup, stopping 24 shots in Cape-Breton’s 5-4 loss (3/20). The Screaming Eagles advanced to the first round of the QJMHL playoffs against Quebec (3/27). He has posted a 6-6-0 record with a 3.32 GAA and a .894 SV% in 13 games with the Screaming Eagles .

Kaapo Kahkonen - TUTO Turku (Mestis):
Minnesota's fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft is on loan to TUTO from Blues (Liiga). He leads the league in games played, second in SV% and fourth in GAA.

Steve Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The Wild's sixth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft stopped 50-54 shots in two games as Harvard clinched the ECAC Championship after defeating Quinnipiac (3/20) and Colgate (3/21) for the Whitelaw Cup. The Crimson will face Nebraska-Omaha in the first round of the NCAA Division I Championship. Michalek ranks second in the conference in saves, T-5th in SV% and ninth in GAA.
