IOWA WILD 2015-16 RECORD: 3-16-1-3, 10 POINTS

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, fell 5-1 against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday at Van Andel Arena (11/25). F Grayson Downing scored the lone goal for Iowa with an assist from F Zack Mitchell. G Leland Irving made 23 saves.

The Wild suffered a 7-4 loss in its first contest against the Checkers on Saturday at Bojangles Coliseum (11/28). D Mike Reilly led the team with two assists. D Christian Folin, F Brett Sutter, F Brady Brassart and Downing each scored for Iowa. G Jeremy Smith earned the loss stopping 18-of-23 shots through 48:41 TOI while Irving allowed two goals on two shots in 13:19 of relief.

Iowa earned a point in its second contest at Charlotte with a 2-1 shootout loss on Sunday (11/29). Mitchell netted the sole goal for the Wild through overtime with an assist from D Tyson Strachan. Irving made 36 saves through overtime and stopped one-of-three shootout attempts.

Downing (6-4=10), F Michael Keranen (5-5=10) and F Christoph Bertschy (2-8=10) each lead Iowa with 10 points. Mitchell (5-4=9) ranks T-4th with nine points and is T-3rd in the AHL with three first goals. F Kurtis Gabriel ranks T-13th in the league with 45 penalty minutes. Irving is 2-7-3 with a 2.73 GAA, .919 SV% and one shutout in 13 games and is T-4th in the league with 374 saves. Smith is 1-9-1 with a 3.33 GAA and a .908 SV% in 12 games.

The Wild will close out its six-game road trip with two contests at Lake Erie on Thursday and Friday.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUES

D Gustav Bouramman - Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): Tallied an assist in three games last week…Ranks second amongst Sault Ste. Marie defensemen in scoring and ranks T-5th on the team in assists…Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

C Reid Duke - Brandon (WHL): Scored a goal in two games last week…Owns five points (3-2=5) in the last six contests…Ranks T-6th in the WHL in game-winning goals (3) and T-17th in goals…Ranks second on the team in goals, T-3rd in plus/minus rating and sixth in points…Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Tanner Faith - Moose Jaw (WHL):
Recorded two penalty minutes in three games last week…Ranks second amongst Warriors defensemen in goals and third in scoring while fifth on the team in penalty minutes…Has served as an alternate captain for all of Moose Jaw’s games this season, except one…Acquired by Moose Jaw from the Kootenay Ice (9/23)…Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Pavel Jenys - Niagara (OHL): Skated in first three games with the Icedogs as Niagara went 2-1-0 in those games…Traded to Niagara Icedogs (11/23)…Totaled 12 points (4-8=12) and 16 penalty minutes in 24 games with Sudbury…Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

C Chase Lang - Vancouver (WHL): Registered two goals and six penalty minutes in three games…Has tallied at least one point in 10-of-14 games with the Giants, totaling 11 points (3-8=11)…Leads the team in assists, T-2nd in scoring and T-3rd in penalty minutes…Traded to the Vancouver Giants from Calgary (10/27)…Registered seven points (2-5=7) and 20 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Hitmen…Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

D Hunter Warner - Prince Albert (WHL): Tallied five penalty minutes in two games…Ranks second on the team in penalty minutes and is T-2nd amongst defensemen in assists and third in scoring…Netted his first WHL goal against Rylan Parenteau in the Raiders’ 3-2 overtime loss vs. Victoria (10/30)…Signed as a free agent with the Wild, September 23, 2014.

GOALTENDERS

Kaapo Kahkonen - Blues (SM-Liiga): Allowed five goals on 22 shots to suffer his sixth loss of the season in his sole start last week (12/2)…Ranks second in the league amongst rookie goaltenders in SV% (ninth overall) and second in GAA (13th overall)…Recorded his first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots against HPK (9/30)…Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
