Wild Plays Of The Week: Nov. 23

by Ross Hollebon / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

The winning vote getter for the week of Nov. 16th was Thomas Vanek’s highlight-reel, puck between his legs, rooftop goal against Winnipeg Nov. 10th.

This week’s nominees are:

PLAY #1
Pom-A-Granny (November 17, 2015 at Pittsburgh)
Michael Granlund, after sneaking into a dead spot of the defense, snapped a shot past Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury after a perfect pass from the corner by Jason Pominville.

PLAY #2
Dub-Nyk of Time (November 19, 2015 at Boston)
An unconventional save, but one that makes sense for a 6’6” goalie that appeared to be guarding the basket more than the net. Bruins forward David Krejci moved in and released a backhand shot that redirected and fluttered into the air. Dubnyk made the save by reaching into the sky and flipping the puck back and over the net.

PLAY #3
Brodin Blast (November 21, 2015 vs. Nashville)
Jonas Brodin
rocked a shot from the left point that blew past Predators goalie Pekka Rinne to give the Wild a 3-0 lead. With heavy pressure and a power play opportunity just expired, Brodin took a pass from Ryan Suter and stepped into the scoring blast.
