Wild Plays Of The Week: Nov. 16

by Ross Hollebon / Minnesota Wild

It’s time once again for Wild fans to decide the DQ Bakes Play of the Week based on three of the best efforts provided by Wild players from recent games. Voting ends Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

The winning vote getter for the week of Nov. 9th was Devan Dubnyk’s post-to-post acrobatics against Tampa Bay during his shutout on November 7th.

This week’s nominees are:

PLAY #1
Vincent Van Goal (November 10, 2015 vs. Winnipeg)
Thomas Vanek
’s second goal of the game was one that showed up on websites and highlight reels across the sports world. In the words of Evan Sporer, the goal “was all-world, as [Vanek] dragged the puck from behind, through his own legs, and through Paul Postma, before catching up to it, and roofing it.”

PLAY #2
Zucker Sticks It (November 12, 2015 at Carolina)
Jason Zucker
pulled off a perfect redirect of a Ryan Suter pass to win the game in overtime for the Wild at Carolina. It was Zucker’s second goal of the game, having also beat Hurricanes' goalie Cam Ward at the end of the 1st period, and the Wild’s first victory in the new three-on-three overtime format.

PLAY #3
Duby Duby Doo (November 14, 2015 at Dallas)
One of Devan Dubnyk’s 33 saves on the evening in Dallas was at the start of overtime as Tyler Seguin came in all alone from the left circle. Dubnyk smothered the right side of his goal to deny Seguin and keep the overtime going.
