Wild Plays Of The Week: Jan. 5

by Katlyn Gambill / Minnesota Wild

Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.

Last week fans chose Mikael Granlund's goal against Winnipeg, in Saint Paul, as the top play.

First up is Ryan Carter’s goal in Winnipeg. Working along the boards, Carter dished the puck to Kyle Brodziak who fed Brett Sutter and then in turn gave the puck back to Carter who went top shelf on Michael Hutchinson.

Jared Spurgeon’s sweet slapper from the circle against Toronto is the second top play this week. Then finally is Mikko Koivu’s power play goal versus the Maple Leafs.

Take your pick for your favorite Wild play of the past week.
