Over the last few seasons, Wild.com wanted help from fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last season, Zach Parise’s stellar wrister against Calgary won top honors, defeating Mikko Koivu’s tic-tap-tip-in play against Winnipeg.
In Buffalo, Thomas Vanek scored against his former team and now has scored a goal against all 30 NHL teams. His power play marker was off a sweet one-timer in the circle.
As is the case for most of his goals, Jason Zucker’s speed played a huge role in his game-winning goal against Arizona. Justin Fontaine fed him near the slot and then Zucker backhanded the puck top shelf past Mike Smith.
Rounding out the voting this week is new Wild goaltender, Devan Dubnyk. Against his former team, Dubnyk was stellar, but this stretch kick save was one to remember as he stopped defenseman Keith Yandle right on the post.
Take your pick for your top play of the past week.
