Wild Players Spread Holiday Cheer

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

Pierre-Marc Bouchard is stellar at Ping Pong, but these youngsters showed that he has some work to do at Bubble Boy.
The greatest gift someone can receive is to see a smile on a young child’s face. That might sound cheesy, but try telling that to Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Brent Burns and Kurtis Foster.

Those three Wild players, along with Brad Bombardir, Mike Greenlay, Dan Terhaar and Tom Reid, spread some cheer to youngsters who are unable to be home for the holidays. Bouchard, Burns, Greenlay and Terhaar spent time at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics in St. Paul on Monday, visiting with patients and their families.

The group gathered in the Wild Teen Room and played games and socialized with the patients able to leave their rooms. Bouchard and Burns then split up to visit individual patients who weren’t able to get down to the Teen Room.

Foster, Bombardir and Reid visited Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and distributed gifts including: autographed player cards, Wild calendars and Wild/FSN Holiday ornaments, which were also autographed and were a huge hit with the kids.

While the kids appeared to enjoy the visit, the players were thrilled to get the chance to be there. Several came away from the event talking about how amazing their stories are, and their ability to stay so positive in tough times.
