SAINT PAUL, Minn. -- Pointing out the appropriate nature of the setting (Xcel Energy Center's "Fishing Lodge"), Wild Assistant General Manager Tommy Thompson, who admitted it was a corny allusion, addressed the Twin Cities media Friday for the club's Draft Luncheon, the annual event that allows for questions about Wild's thoughts on the upcoming talent grab.

Prior to Thompson taking the mic, GM Chuck Fletcher opened the proceedings with a few thoughts of his own, including the fact that Thompson's staff works so hard all year long for that one day, referring to it as an "amazing phenomenon."

Click on the video file below for the complete version of Fletcher's introduction and Thompson's remarks, which run approximately 10 minutes. Under that, Wild TV has exclusive interviews with both Thompson and Fletcher, hosted by Kevin Falness.

After the podium session, Falness caught up with Thompson (click below for the video) and Fletcher, who spoke about the importance of the Draft and the Wild's options with the No. 12 overall pick.
