Wild Adds Andrew C. Thomas And Alexandra Mandrycky To Hockey Operations Department

The Minnesota Wild has named Andrew C. Thomas lead hockey researcher and Alexandra Mandrycky hockey operations analyst. Thomas and Mandrycky are responsible for data collection and interpretation for the organization and will work in conjunction with Ben Resnick, manager of hockey administration.

Thomas, a native of Scarborough, Ont., co-founded, an advanced hockey stats website that includes traditional and modern hockey statistical summaries, graphics, analyses, contracts and transactions in August of 2014. He served as an Associate Professor of Data Science at the University of Florida (2015) and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University (2009-14) prior to joining the Wild. Thomas received a PhD in Statistics from Harvard University in 2009 and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in physics in 2004.

Mandrycky, a native of Atlanta, Ga., is also a co-founder of and served as a systems and operations consultant before joining the Wild. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, with Highest Honor in 2013.

Resnick, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., is in his fourth season with the Wild and helps support the day-to-day operations of the team including data analysis, compliance and research. He received a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 and graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University with a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and Economics in 2005.
