Wild About Children Raises $140,000

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today that in partnership with West Bend and Kincaid’s, last week’s Wild About Children event raised $140,000 for the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Children’s of Minnesota. Over a period of nine years, the Wild About Children event has contributed more than $800,000 in support of Children’s of Minnesota.

Wild About Children presented by West Bend and catered by Kincaid’s was held on Wednesday, March 6, at the historic Landmark Center in downtown Saint Paul with proceeds benefiting the Wild Foundation and Children’s. The entire Wild roster served as celebrity waiters and traded in their jerseys for aprons to wait on the 275 guests in attendance. The event raised money through several fundraising vehicles, including a silent and a live auction.

“We are so thankful to count the Minnesota Wild as partners and are once again amazed by their generosity,” said Alan L. Goldbloom, MD, president and CEO of Children’s of Minnesota. “This latest donation from Wild About Children will help us move closer to completing Children’s Neuroscience Center at our St. Paul campus. This new facility will be extremely important in helping us deliver state-of-the-art care to children with epilepsy, brain tumors and other serious neurological conditions.”

The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey.

The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.
