TORONTO COACH PAT QUINN QUOTES
Wednesday, January 18, 2006 versus Minnesota
“We ran into penalties again. Just a terrible call. You can yell at the referees all you want, but they’re getting calls and we’re paying the price for it. We couldn’t kill off the first one and they got another one later on. They executed pretty well on it, but we had a chance to clear it. We couldn’t get it. That’s the kind of non-plays we’re getting. When we have to get tough, and you have to do a job, we’re not doing a good enough job. Their second goal at 33 seconds into the third period was one of those where you hate to see, but we’re going through that right now, and somehow we’re going to have to fight through it.”
We could probably use your comments from the last game and the game before that.
"You seem to be donating some points right now. “I thought we had a good start. We got the good short handed goal by Matt Stajan. We know that they’re going to be working hard tonight, they’ve been struggling as of late. Again, we turned the puck over I don’t know how many times. We just have to get away from that. Doing the mistakes that we’re doing. We’ve got to simplify our game, and get back on track. We’ve got a big weekend coming up.”
Why are the same kind of mistakes coming up.
“I don’t know, I can’t answer that. We’re in a position now where obviously we have to start winning some hockey games. We’ve got two tough games coming up this weekend. Saturday and Monday. We have to get better, because we’re the only ones in the dressing room that can turn this thing around.”
