Fans attending Wednesday night's Minnesota Wild preseason home opener will have the opportunity to see the new format of "The State of Hockey" Game Program, which will now be a foldout poster (think road map format). The program/poster will still have rosters from both teams involved in the game, and will also include feature stories and player information.
After unfolding four layers, fans will be treated to a 24-page program, with one side being written content, and the other revealing a nine-panel poster featuring Wild players or other hockey themes throughout the season.
Each poster from the Wild's preseason games will feature three of the top ten greatest moments in Wild history, as voted on by the fans. Wednesday's game poster will have moments eight, nine and ten.
Once again, youth hockey organizations will sell the program/posters in the Xcel Energy Center concourses for $3.00 each. However, all fans attending opening night on October 14 against Edmonton with receive the poster free of charge.
The new poster is another example of the Minnesota Wild's "Go Green" initiative, cutting down on the amount of paper typically used for a traditional program. Park Printing of Minneapolis will handle the production and delivery of the game posters.
