In response to numerous media requests, we can confirm that the letter from Jordyn Leopold, daughter of NHL defenseman Jordan Leopold, is legitimate. The letter was written in early January but was never sent to the Minnesota Wild. General Manager Chuck Fletcher did not know about the letter until after the trade was made with the Columbus Blue Jackets this afternoon.
The letter was given to KFAN 100.3 FM, and was shared during Paul Allen’s radio show and via social media this morning. Leopold's wife, Jamie, joined KFAN to talk about the letter.
Jordan will be available to the media following tomorrow’s Wild morning skate at 10:30 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Minnesota hosts Ottawa tomorrow at 7 p.m.
