Jacques Lemaire Postgame Quotes

by Staff Writer / Minnesota Wild

Thursday, December 15, 2005 versus Boston

There were a lot of bounces out there tonight.

“Yeah, bounces, and calls from upstairs that we’re wondering who is checking the replays.  This is unbelievable.”

Both teams skated well tonight

“It was a very exciting game.  Up and down, good chances for both sides, good plays.  They had their backs to the wall too.  This is a team that’s looking for wins, and they played good tonight.  You have to give them credit too.  They got the bounces but, you know they work hard.”

Manny Fernandez

About the bounce on the boards.

“It’s never been done in our building.  We try to work on that in our practice, rims around, but there’s nothing that prepares you for that.  If it’s going to happen it’s going to happen.  The second goal, he punches it in the net, and I guess that’s a goal in the NHL.  The ref said he saw it and didn’t want to call it out.  He said he wanted to get a good look at it.  They go upstairs, they figure they didn’t see it, so they better call it in.  That’s his version of seeing the puck go in.  That’s the way it goes.  Then again, I thought we played well defensively.  Stuff like that happens, I don’t know what you got to do.  We don’t need this right now.  I thought the guys played a good game.”
