FOX Sports North, in conjunction with the Minnesota Wild, announced details about Hockey Day Minnesota 2011 presented by Wells Fargo. A full day of consecutive hockey programming with coverage from Hockey Day events taking place across the State of Hockey, the fifth annual event is sure to be a day for hockey fans to look forward to.

Hockey Day Minnesota 2011 coverage will include two outdoor boys high school games from Moorhead, an NHL game from Xcel Energy Center, as well as a college match-up from Mariucci Arena:

The 2011 Hockey Day Minnesota telecast event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. with programming anchored from Moorhead, Minn. by Dick Bremer, Kevin Gorg and Ann Carroll and from the Xcel Energy Center by Mike Pomeranz and Tom Chorske. Fans will join Anthony LaPanta, Larry Olimb and Doug Woog at Mariucci Arena later in the day for the Gopher men’s hockey match-up. Dan Terhaar, Mike Greenlay, Robby Incmikoski, Marney Gellner and Rob McClanahan will join the Hockey Day Minnesota broadcast from the Xcel Energy Center for complete Minnesota Wild coverage.
Coaches representing the 2011 Hockey Day Minnesota high school match-ups will appear at the Minnesota Wild game and on the FOX Sports North broadcast on Dec. 26 from Xcel Energy Center. Carl Davis (Wayzata), Andy Lundbohm (Roseau), Dave Morinville (Moorhead) and Tony Ciro (Hill-Murray) will appear on Qwest Wild Live pregame at 5:30 p.m. and announce “Let’s Play Hockey” before the start of the Wild game at approximately 6:00 p.m. The coaches will also appear on-ice for a “pass and shoot” activity during second intermission of the game and during FOX Sports North’s post-game “instructional” segment.
FOX Sports North has started production on a variety of Hockey Day Minnesota features and vignettes, some of which include:
- Beyond the Yellow Ribbon: A program that revolves around military families and how hockey is involved in their everyday lives.
- Cullen’s Kids: A charity created by Minnesota Wild player and Moorhead, Minn. native Matt Cullen, designed to provide financial resources to organizations that support children's healthcare needs.
- Dino Ciccarelli: Former North Star player inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 2010.
