In support and celebration of the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ and to mark Minnesota’s first professional outdoor hockey game, Governor Mark Dayton has officially proclaimed February 20-21, 2016 to be “NHL Stadium Series Weekend” in Minnesota.
Along with the proclamation, the lights of the iconic I-35W bridge will be changed to official Minnesota Wild colors Iron Range Red and Forest Green as a special tribute. The bridge extends across the Mississippi River and will be lit both nights of the NHL Stadium Series. The piers of the bridge will be cast in green with the body of the bridge glowing in red. The lighting will take place 30 minutes before sunset to 30 minutes after sunrise.
On February 20-21, the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ will be held at TCF Bank Stadium. The historic weekend will begin with the NHL Stadium Series Alumni Game at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, featuring former greats from the Minnesota Wild®, Minnesota North Stars™ and Chicago Blackhawks®, reigniting memories of a legendary rivalry. FOX Sports North will televise the event in partnership with Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
The 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ game will be held on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m. between the Minnesota Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks, marking the first time a NHL® game has ever been played outdoors in the state of Minnesota. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.
