The Minnesota Wild has partnered with the Duluth Wells Fargo branch to support the Dennin Bauers Memorial Fund. Bauers, a retired police officer and youth athletics coach, died on Sunday, one day after being struck in the head by a puck during a Duluth Central father-son game. Bauers was 52, a husband, and a father of two sons (Dean and Bryan), who were also participating in the father-son game. Dean is a member of the Duluth Central high school boys’ hockey team, while Bryan plays for the Duluth Laker Bantam A squad.
Bauers was an organ donor, and at least five regional people in need have received organs from him according to the Duluth News Tribune.
