Aeros To Play At Xcel Energy Center

The Houston Aeros, the Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, will call Xcel Energy Center home for one game this season.

The Aeros will host the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, at Xcel Energy Center at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

Minnesota Wild season-ticket holders will receive complimentary tickets to the game, equal to the number of Wild seats they hold. An email will be sent to Full Season Ticket Holders the week of August 20. Reserved seating tickets for the Aeros game will cost $20 and will go on sale on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office,, and at all Ticketmaster ( locations or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000.

The AHL matchup will be a showdown of the Wild’s and Blackhawks’ top prospects. This marks the fourth time the Aeros will host a game at Xcel Energy Center. The club is 1-2-0 in its previous three contests in St. Paul, posting a 3-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Mar. 7, 2005, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals on Dec. 8, 2002 and falling 3-1 to the Peoria Rivermen on Feb. 13, 2011.

The home portion of the schedule commences on Saturday, Oct. 13. That game will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first Aeros game played by the World Hockey Association (WHA) team in 1972.

The Aeros will play 76 games this season (38 home, 38 road). Members of the newly-minted South Division, the Aeros play 44 divisional games with 22 of those at home. South Division rivals include the Charlotte Checkers, Oklahoma City Barons, San Antonio Rampage, and Texas Stars. Every contest this season will be against Western Conference foes.
