The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has assigned left wing Francis Wathier
to the Texas Stars - Dallas' primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Wathier, 24, was recalled from Texas on Oct. 20 and made his NHL debut on Oct. 21 at Anaheim with three shots on net and five penalty minutes. He has appeared in six games for Texas this season, picking up two assists with a +2 rating and two penalty minutes. The 6-4, 208-pound left wing spent the 2008-09 season with the Iowa Chops (AHL), where he gathered six goals and 10 assists with 127 penalty minutes in 77 contests. Wathier was Dallas’ sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Dallas Stars will finish up a three-game road trip on Saturday at St. Louis (7:00 pm, My 27, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket).
