After a day off Monday, the Dallas Stars were back on the ice for practice in Frisco today. Defenseman Philip Larsen (shoulder) and Ray Whitney (foot) were both on the ice. Larsen appears ready to return, Whitney still has a ways to go.
Whitney, who has been out since February 2 with a broken bone in his foot, was on the ice for only the first part of the practice and left early.
“He is still a little ways away,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “I wouldn’t get too anxious about his return, as far as the skate today. I can tell you that the foot hasn’t completely healed. He’s probably ahead of where most guys would be as far as pain tolerance goes and that he can get out there. But he can’t come in until the injury heals. It’s as simple as that.”
