On Thursday, December 6th, the Dallas Stars players’ wives gathered together for their annual holiday visit to spread holiday cheer with the children of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater DFW, most of whom are suffering from cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities.

The wives were given a tour of the UCP facility which highlighted schematics for a new Dallas Stars-themed indoor playground. The Dallas Stars Foundation generously donated a $25,000 grant to UCP for the construction of an indoor accessible playground, which will provide additional therapeutic equipment to use with children in therapy and in the preschool program.

Following the tour, the wives were each paired up with their own young friend, each sporting a custom made Dallas Stars t-shirt, , and participating in activities that included making paper snowmen, jumping  on the indoor bounce house, and finger painting Christmas ornaments. While there was scarcely a child or wife without paint on their faces or clothes, it was clear that fun was had by all. Following the play session, the kids enjoyed a giant frosted Dallas Stars cookie and apple juice to celebrate the holiday season.

To kick off the new year, UCP of Greater DFW was invited to the Dallas Stars game on January 24th, which was highlighted by the presentation of a $25,000 grant check for the construction of the Dallas Stars themed indoor playground, which is now completed and in full use by the children of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater DFW. UCP offers the highest quality of early childhood educational programming and therapeutic services for children with any type of developmental disability in the North Texas area.
