About the Stars

The Stars (4-5-0) are coming off a 5-1 win over Calgary at American Airlines Center Thursday. Kari Lehtonen, back in the lineup after missing five games with a lower body injury, stopped 28 of 29 shots. Jamie Benn and Alex Chiasson both tallied twice in the game.

"Obviously after a tough road trip we wanted to come out here and be strong at home and come out with a good start," Benn said. "I thought our goalie played great tonight and we got a big two points."

Lehtonen improved to 3-1-0 on the season. He has a 1.41 goals against average and .956 save percentage.

“He’s our key player,” Chiasson said of Lehtonen. “You look at every team that is successful in this league and it starts with the goalie. I think he played awesome tonight”

The win was just the second in the last six games (2-4-0) for the Stars.

The Stars assigned defenseman Aaron Rome to the Texas Stars of the AHL on Friday. They also activated forward Scott Glennie from injured non-roster and assigned him to Texas.

Injuries: F Ryan Garbutt (suspended) is out.

About the Jets

The Jets (4-5-2) lost 3-2 in overtime at Nashville on Thursday. The Jets tied the game on a Blake Wheeler goal with 3:01 remaining in the third period, but Predators forward Craig Smith scored with 17 seconds left in overtime to hand the Jets their third straight loss (0-1-2).

“I don’t take any positive. We lost the game. We needed the points and that’s all that matters,” said Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. “If we are going to tell ourselves that we played one good period and we can build on that, no. We needed two points.”

Winnipeg has lost seven of its last nine games (2-5-2). Saturday’s game is the second of a four game road trip for Winnipeg, which has played only three of its first eleven games on the road.

Injuries: C Jim Slater (undisclosed) is questionable. D Jacob Trouba (upper body) and RW Chris Thorburn (lower body) are out.
