About the Stars

The Stars (9-8-2) lost 5-4 in overtime at Nashville on Monday. The Stars had a 4-2 lead in the second period, but the Predators scored late in the second and again in the third to force the extra period.

This is the fifth set of back-to-back games for the Stars this season. They are 0-4-0 in the second game so far this season and 1-15-2 in the second game of back-to-backs over the last two seasons.

“This is a huge game for us. We’re due for one in the back-to-back,” said Stars forward Eric Nystrom. “We’re going for three of four (points) on this road trip. We wanted four points, we got one tonight, we would have liked two but we’ve got to find a way to win on the road back-to-back, and stop making excuses.”

Injuries: G Kari Lehtonen is questionable. D Philip Larsen (head), D Aaron Rome (foot) and LW Ray Whitney (foot) are out.
