Dallas Stars' General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has assigned goaltender Jason Bacashihua to the Utah Grizzlies, the Stars primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Bacashihua, 21, dressed but did not play in four games with the Stars since being recalled from Utah on Jan. 27. The 5-11, 175-pound goaltender has registered a 6-13-3 mark with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage in 23 games with Utah this season. Dallas' first round selection (26th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Bacashihua did appear in four 2003 preseason games with the Stars. In those four contests, he posted a 0-1-1 record with a 1.54 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage.
