.)  Saturday night’s match-up is the second of two meetings between the Florida Panthers and the Dallas Stars this season. The first meeting took place in Florida on Jan. 21 as the Stars beat the Panthers, 4-1. The win was the start of a season-high five-game winning streak for Dallas. Mike Ribeiro scored the first hat trick of his career and was named the First Star of the Game. The Stars hold a 10-6-5 record all time against the Panthers.
.)  Marty Turco posted his third shutout of the season and 36th of his career Thursday night against Los Angeles. The Stars were unable to come up with the win in the shootout as the King’s third shooter, Justin Williams, scored to close out the game, 1-0. Turco stopped all 30 shots in regulation and the five-minute overtime period. The 33-year-old leads the NHL in games played (70) and minutes (4,085).

.)  The Stars will face a rare opponent tonight with the Florida Panthers. On the current roster, 13 players from Dallas have played the Panthers less than five games in their career and four will most likely be making their debut against Florida tonight. Since the Panthers joined in the NHL in the 1993-94 season, the two clubs have met only 21 times.
.)  Dallas will play against their final Eastern Conference opponent of the season tonight. A few Stars have had success against Florida in their careers. In 19 career games, Mike Modano has scored 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points. Jere Lehtinen has also posted some strong performances against the Panthers, notching four goals and 10 assists in 17 career games. Although he will not appear in tonight’s game, Brad Richards has excelled against the Panthers, appearing in 44 career games and recording 14 goals and 25 assists for 39 points.
.)  One to watch for: David Booth is the leading goal scorer for Florida this season and is the only Panther with more than 20 goals on the season (27). Booth is now in his third season in the NHL, all with Florida. The former Michigan State Spartan leads the team in shots (223) and power-play goals (10). Booth has played in 65 games this season, recording 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists) and posting a +8 rating. He has played in two games against the Stars in his career, going scoreless.
