The Dallas Stars snapped a three-game road losing streak with a 3-2 win at Colorado Monday night. Jamie Benn had two goals and an assist for the Stars, and Brenden Morrow also scored. Kari Lehtonen stopped 29 of 31 shots. The Stars improved to 4-5-1 on the season.
Benn breaks out
After picking up just one assist in his first four games, Jamie Benn got on track in the points department Monday night, registering 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). He scored 2:21 into the game to put the Stars up 1-0, stealing the puck from Matt Hunwick and scoring on a breakaway. He scored the game winning goal late in the second, beating Colorado goaltender Semyon Varlamov with a shot from the slot during a delayed penalty. The three-point night was the eighth of Benn’s career. It was his ninth multi-goal game.
