Jason Dickinson, Remi Elie and Philippe Desrosiers are among the Dallas prospects moving on to the next round of the playoffs in junior hockey. And a Mattias Janmark goal keeps his team alive in the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Here’s an update on how as Stars prospects who are still playing in juniors and the European leagues fared over the past week.


*C Mattias Janmark (trade/2015) scored the game-winning goal with 3:58 left in regulation as Frolunda stayed alive in the Swedish Hockey League semifinals with a 1-0 victory over Vaxjo in Game 5 of the best-of-seven series. Frolunda now trails in the series 3-2. Game 6 is Wednesday. Janmark leads Frolunda in playoff scoring with seven points (four goals, three assists) in 12 games.

*D Mattias Backman (trade/2015) registered three assists in four games last week but Linkoping lost to Skelleftea in the semifinals of the Swedish Hockey League playoffs. Backman finished with three assists in nine postseason games.

*D John Nyberg (sixth round/2014) did not score as Frolunda lost to Djurgardens 3-1 in the championship game in Swedish junior hockey Monday. He had no points as Frolunda defeated Linkoping in the semifinals to advance to the championship game. Nyberg had two points (one goal, one assist) in eight playoff games.

*After helping Rogle win promotion to the Swedish Hockey League next season, D Niklas Hansson (third round/2013) went to Rogle’s junior team for the playoffs. He got in one game and scored both goals in Rogle’s 5-2 loss to Djurgardens in the semifinals. Hansson missed the third-place game with an injury.

Ontario Hockey League

*C Jason Dickinson (first round/2013) registered one goal and assisted on the game-winner in overtime as Guelph won Game 4 against Owen Sound in the first round of the OHL playoffs. Dickinson picked up an assist as Guelph won Game 5 to take the series 4-1. Dickinson registered five points (three goals, two assists) in the five-game series. Guelph will play Sault Ste. Marie in the second round.

*LW Remi Elie (second round/2013) registered two assists in two games as Erie as completed its series win over Sarnia. Elie picked up five points (two goals, three assists) in the series, which Erie won 4-1. Erie will play London in the second round.

*D Aaron Haydon (sixth round/2014) didn’t register any points as Niagara won its first round series against Ottawa in six games. Niagara plays Oshawa in the second round.

*G Brent Moran (fourth round/2014) did not play in any of Niagara’s four games last week as it finished off its series against Ottawa. Moran played one game in the series, stopping five of 10 shots in 31 minutes.

Western Hockey League

*LW Brett Pollock (second round/2014) registered one goal and one assist in two games over the past week, but Edmonton was eliminated in the first round of the WHL playoffs by Brandon, 4-1. Pollock tied for the team lead in scoring with five points (three goals, two assists) in five games.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League

*G Philippe Desrosiers (second round/2013) stopped 26 of 28 shots as Rimouski defeated Victoriaville, 4-2, to complete a four-game sweep in the first round of the QMJHL series. Desrosiers played in two of the four games, posting a 2-0 record, 2.49 goals-against average and .891 save percentage.

United States Hockey League

*RW Matej Paulovic (fifth round/2013) picked up two assists in three games for Muskegon in regular season play in the USHL. Paulovic has 47 points (16 goals, 31 assists) in 50 games.

*D Ludwig Bystrom (second round/2012) – Swedish Hockey League. Now playing with Texas Stars (AHL).

*D Miro Karjalainen (fifth round/2014) – Finland juniors.

*D Esa Lindell (third round/2012) – Finnish Elite League. Played with Texas Stars (AHL), now with Finland’s national team.

*D Aleksi Makela (seventh round/2013) – Finnish Elite League.

*LW Emil Molin (fourth round/2011) – Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan.

*D Alex Peters (third round/2014) – Plymouth (OHL).

*D Michael Prapavessis (fourth round/2014) – RPI/NCAA.

*D Patrick Sanvido (seventh round/2014) – Windsor (OHL).

*C Devin Shore (second round/2012) – University of Maine/NCAA. Now playing with Texas Stars (AHL).

*D Dmitry Sinitsyn (seventh round/2012) – Russia/KHL.

*LW Cole Ully (fifth round/2013) – Kamloops (WHL).
