Regular season play is underway for several Dallas Stars prospects. Here’s an update on Dallas prospects playing in juniors, the European leagues and U.S. colleges.
Ontario Hockey League
*Center Jason Dickinson
(first round/2013) headed back to his junior team Sunday after a nice showing during Dallas Stars training camp and the preseason. Dickinson picked up one goal and one assist in two preseason games. Despite the good showing at camp, Dickinson said the experience showed he still has work to do as he tries to make the way to the NHL.
“It’s been a huge eye-opener,” Dickinson said. “I thought I was ready at development camp (in July). I am skating with these guys, I can keep up and I am pushing the pace. I come here and it’s another world. It’s completely different, unlike anything I ever expected. It’s good that I got it under my belt.”
Dickinson will play for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League this season.
*The Stars announced Sunday that they signed left wing Remi Elie
to a three-year entry-level contract. Elie, who played well at the NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan and attended Dallas training camp, has picked up three points (one goal, two assists) in two games this season with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League.
