Dallas Stars Lowering Ticket Prices

Full Season Seats Upstairs to Match Reunion Arena Prices

Stars President Jeff Cogen has always been one to think outside the box. And if they didn’t know, Stars Season Seat Holders are about to find out over the next few days when their mail arrives.

Dallas Stars Playoff Invoices and Season Seat Early Renewal Packets are being mailed out now, landing in local mailboxes as early as Friday. The packets list out full information on the new price structure for 2008-09 Season Seats, which include some significant reductions on the best seats in the Upper Level of American Airlines Center.

“I think it’s time for bold, innovative moves,” said Cogen. “We looked at our price models and made the decision to reduce Season Seat prices in the Upper Level. We’ve taken the all of the seats upstairs and matched them to prices from Reunion Arena.

“The bottom line is that we want to add to our Season Seat Base and fill the building every night for Stars games. The team plays better in front of a full house and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. We’re in the business of winning championships and the home ice advantage is important.”

As part of the reduction, approximately 4,000 of the best seats in the Upper Level will see a 37% price reduction on their Season Seats.

“These new prices will give our fans a lot of options,” said Cogen. “Partial Plan Holders can upgrade to a Full Season Plan, and they can possibly do so for the same or slightly higher amount of money. Current Full Season Plan Holders can look at significantly upgrading their location for the same price they currently pay.”

Season Seat Holders in the Lower Level will see their prices remain flat when they exercise the Early Renewal option for their seats for 2008-09. For Lower Level Season Seat Holders who have chosen the Early Renewal option in the past and do so again, this will mark the third consecutive season where their prices have remained the same. The Stars plan to add even more value to Lower Level Season Seat Holders with things like VIP club passes, bonus tickets, and exclusive Stars events. Early renewal also gives fans the luxury of not having to pay for the Stars’ 2008 playoff games until after the playoffs have been completed.

The Stars are currently leading the Pacific Division and are looking to win their eighth division title in the last 11 seasons.

“Things are exciting for the Dallas Stars right now,” said Cogen. “We’re currently second in the West, we’ve won seven games in a row (entering Thursday night’s game at Phoenix), and the team is playing well.”

The team is planning on doing a lot of fun things next season in what is being deemed ‘A Season of Celebrations,’ with the 10th anniversary of winning the Stanley Cup and the 15th anniversary of the franchise coming to Dallas.

“We’re going to have a lot of special things for next season and Season Seat Holders will benefit the most, with these new prices being the first example,” said Cogen. “There honestly is not a better time to be a Season Seat Holder for the Dallas Stars.”

Season Seat Holders should check their mail for full information on the new Season Seat prices, arriving very soon.
