Dallas Stars Activate Kari Lehtonen From Injured Reserve; Assign Cristopher Nilstorp to Texas

The Dallas Stars announced today that goaltender Kari Lehtonen has been activated from injured reserve and assigned goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp to the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Lehtonen, 29, has missed the last five games with a lower body injury. Prior to being placed on injured reserve, Lehtonen had a 7-2-1 record with a .934 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.12 goals against average (GAA) in 12 appearances for the Stars. The Helsinki, Finland, native has seven of Dallas' 10 wins this season, posting a .925 SV%-or-higher 10 times. His next appearance will be his 153rd as a Star, which will tie him for the ninth spot on the all-time franchise goaltending games played list with Darcy Wakaluk.

Nilstorp, 29, has appeared in five games for Dallas this season and has a 1-3-1 record with an .897 SV% and a 3.09 GAA. The Malmo, Sweden, native made his NHL debut on Jan. 20 against Minnesota stopping 31-of-32 shots in 60 minutes of play. With the Texas Stars this season, Nilstorp has appeared in 31 games and has earned a 17-10-5 record with a 2.17 GAA, a .914 SV% and four shutouts.

The Dallas Stars begin a two-game homestand and face the Edmonton Oilers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night at the American Airlines Center (TV: FOX Sports Southwest; Radio: 1310 The Ticket).
