Back from Christmas break, it was a trip to the desert that greeted the Sharks. Making things a bit tougher was a day-of flight out to face a tough division opponent in an effort to get the two points.
Schedule makers from three professional sports leagues lined up a weekend of Bay Area sports against Arizona.
Havlat missing a second consecutive game caused some continued line shuffling for Coach McLellan.
Line shuffling reached all the way to the press box.
Perhaps the late flight out to AZ did have an impact as the Sharks struggle a bit out of the gate.
Maybe this woke them up?
After dominating the Coyotes on the shot count in the first two meetings of the season, the Sharks ended the first period with just a 12-11 advantage in the category
The top line comes through.
After Morris scores his second for the Coyotes, Marleau finishes a great pass from Wingels with a quick-release to give the Sharks a lead.
Time for the puns to come out.
Coyotes get on the power play and capitalize to tie the game.
And the Sharks are playing a Pacific Division rival so we might as well send it to overtime so everyone gets a point!
