The city of Fremont was named after John Charles Frémont, who was known as “The Great Pathfinder.” On Sunday, Jan. 18, the San Jose Sharks will find themselves on the path to Sharks Ice at Fremont for their on-ice practice session.
For one day, the Sharks will bring their off-day practice to Sharks Ice at Fremont. The practice will begin at 11 a.m. and run between 30-60 minutes.
Following practice, fans will have an opportunity to skate with S.J. Sharkie and meet and greet several selected Sharks players for an autograph session. The day will also include a street hockey area and the famous Sharks Ice Cream Truck, providing free frozen desserts.
Remodeled in the summer of 2004, Sharks Ice at Fremont, a 40,000 square-foot facility offers an NHL-sized ice rink, as well as a stocked pro shop, a full-service food court, a video arcade and meeting space for up to 200 guests. Additionally, Stanley's Sports Bar, an entertainment and dining area overlooking the rink, opened in the winter of 2006.
Sharks Ice at Fremont is a favorite recreation and entertainment destination among Bay Area residents of all ages. It’s a perfect place to participate in a variety of winter sports at any time of year, including daily public skating, ice hockey, broomball, curling, speed skating, ice dancing and more. Additionally, Sharks Ice offers a variety of group events and fundraising programs that can be tailored to fit anyone’s needs.
Sharks Ice at Fremont is the sister rink of Sharks Ice at San Jose and the Oakland Ice Center operated by Sharks Ice, and is owned and operated by Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E), the parent company of the San Jose Sharks.
