Sharks To Host Playoff Street Rally

by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks
SAN JOSE – The 2011 Sharks Playoffs presented by El Camino Hospital will kick-off against the Los Angeles Kings with a pre-game street rally on Thursday, April 14. The rally will be open to the public from approximately 5-6:45 p.m. and will take place next to HP Pavilion on Autumn Street between Santa Clara Street and St. John Street.

Festivities for the First Round rally will include a performance by Street Drum Corps, carnival games, music and a live DJ from Sound in Motion, giveaways, face painting, slap shot booth and more. Plus, Comcast SportsNet will be broadcasting “Chronicle Live” from the street rally from 5-6 p.m.

Two new contests will also be running during the Street Rally – the “Box of Pucks” contest and the “QR Code Scavenger Hunt” contest. For the “Box of Pucks" contest, fans can guess the number of pucks in a large "penalty box sized" container for a chance to win a Day with Dan Rusanowsky which includes watching Dan broadcast a Sharks game for one period amongst other game day activities.

Fans can also participate in the “QR Code Scavenger Hunt.” In this contest, fans can collect clues from street rally promotional booths via QR codes to help solve a secret phrase for a chance to win a Sharks team signed jersey and a playoff banner.

Food will be provided at the rally by the Aramark Grill. In addition, a benefit beer booth will be set up with proceeds from the beer sales going to the Sharks Foundation. Corporate partners of the Sharks will also have manned sponsor booths at the rally.

Along with fun and games, there will be a SVS&E Merchandise Booth that will include all the latest Sharks gear.

Entertainment plans for the pre-game rally are subject to change, weather permitting. Up to date information will be available right here at
